Martin Duplantier graduated from HEC (2003) and the National School of Architecture of Paris-Malaquais (2007) and followed the Master of the Urban Planning Institute of Bordeaux (2012). He is Managing Director and founder of Martin Duplantier Architectes.
Engaged in a global vision of architecture and sustainable development, he has his first experiences in China, Mexico or Niger. He started working in internationally renowned agencies, first at Gerkan, Marg und Partners Architekten in Berlin, then at David Chipperfield Architects in London. His collaborations abroad, his double training and the multipolar anchoring of his agency (between Paris and Bordeaux) nourish a singular approach of the project in which production and creation, urban issues and answers to social challenges are set in dialogue. His practice gives a large place to research and experimentation by framing them by a desire for relevance in architectural choices as in the financial balance sheet.
In 2018, he was selected by the Choiseul Institute among the 100 young leaders of the city of tomorrow. In the same year he was laureate of the Soufaché prize of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 2017, he was elected as president of AMO (Association Architecture and Owner).
