After the Foshan West Railway Station was upgraded to be the main station, the government proposed to establish a cooperative zone for the Guangdong-Guizhou-Hebei high-speed rail economic belt around the two high-speed railway lines of Guiguang and Nanguang. In the three parks of the three provinces, our base, the “New Hub City” is situated within 92 square kilometers of the Guangdong Park, which is the key area for future development of the provinces and municipalities. It is hoped that the future Foshan West Railway Station will not only be a station, but also a multi-functional area that attracts people. At the same time, it focuses on the creation of natural environment, green space and water system, prompting an eco-centric development of the region.
In terms of the overall concept, a green and ecological corridor around the main boundary of the base and the ecological corridor connecting the two outer sides of the base are to be built. The overall landscape of the new platform is established through combining three streams of water system, three types of slow passages and ecological infiltration of the central axis of the landscape.
The design of the central axis includes special landscape features of the provinces along the Pearl River Basin. namely, from north to south: Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Guangdong. Where the design conforms to the topography in the form of a terraced landscape, symbolizing the Pearl River basin with a continuous waterscape, showing the characteristics and charms of the Guangdong-Guishou Economic belt, and symbolizing the close cooperation and prospects of Guangdong and Guangxi.
